When you contact Nourish to book a consultation, Maria will send you a questionnaire and a food diary template for you to complete and bring to the consultation.
Initial consultation (1 – 1.5 hours): Maria will discuss your reasons for coming to Nourish, and establish your health goals. We will take a full case history, giving you time to talk about your health concerns and present symptoms. We will ask you questions about your medical history, family history, diet and lifestyle.
We will also use kinesiology techniques to assess and correct nutrient deficiencies/excesses, food intolerances, organ or system imbalances and much more.
At the end of the consultation, Maria will share their initial thoughts about your health and offer dietary recommendations, giving you advice verbally and in the form of guidelines and handouts. We might also recommend nutritional supplements, lab tests, and make lifestyle suggestions such as relaxation and exercise. Your therapeutic plan will take into account your likes and dislikes, lifestyle and personal circumstances, and will include clear guidelines on foods that you should add to your diet and any that you need to avoid. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions that occur to you. We will then send additional information, including recipes, after the consultation. Please note that if you are on medication or have a medical condition that needs extra research, we will send your plan and any supplement recommendations by email after the consultation.
Follow up consultations (45-60 minutes): We usually recommend between one and four follow-up consultations depending on your health problems and goals. We will discuss your progress with the diet and any supplements, monitor any existing or new symptoms, explain any lab test results and make any necessary changes to your diet and/or supplements.
Please note: although we offer both nutritional therapy and kinesiology at our practice, kinesiology is an entirely separate discipline to nutritional therapy, and is covered by a different professional body, The Association of Systematic Kinesiology (ASK), of which I am a member.
Our fees reflect the amount of work involved, not only during the face to face consultation at our central Bath clinic, but also after the consultation when we will typically spend time researching your health concerns and finalising your plan.
All fees cover the consultation itself, your therapeutic plan and additional handouts. Any recommended supplements and laboratory tests are additional. The fee also includes reasonable email contact after the consultation, with simple queries relating to the appointment or your therapeutic plan, or management of any side effects – we will endeavour to answer any questions within 24 hours during working hours. Any work in excess of this (including research, answering emails, laboratory test result interpretation, phone calls) will be charged at a rate of £30 per 30 minutes.
